Cassandra Peterson is a long-time aviation admirer. When she was a child, her father would take the family flying on a Cessna on weekends. It prompted her to start taking lessons in college where she earned her private pilot certificate in 1990. She earned a commercial certificate with single engine, multi-engine, and instrument ratings. She also completed her CFI and CFII. After earning her ratings, she taught at Waukegan Airport and at Galt. She has over 1,500 hours of flight time and 800 hours of dual instruction.
After starting a family, Cassandra stopped flying to become a freelance writer and editor. Her love of teaching brought her back to the classroom, however, first as an instructor of college composition and English as a Second Language, and eventually back to the cockpit. She loves working with students from all different backgrounds and enjoy sharing her passion for flying.
