Ernie began his flight training at age 15, and on his 16th birthday he completed both his driver’s license and his first solo flight. During his high school years, he worked part time at the local airport in Hendersonville, NC. Ernie attended Florida Tech, where he earned an AS in Flight Technology and a BS in Aviation Management with honors. He completed his CFI and CFII credentials, and began working as a flight instructor at Florida Tech in 1992. Ernie strives to help his students understand everything they need to be successful. He also works to find the optimum balance of ground instruction for each student, to help them get the most benefit from their time in the plane.
