Blue Skies’ Redbird flight simulator is a high-quality, feature-rich stationary AATD. It is the perfect solution to maintain/achieve instrument currency with wrap-around visuals, realistic flight controls, and interchangeable instrument panels. This simulator is designed to practice approaches, departures, VOR and airway navigation and take a landing to minimums in realistic conditions.  With the control loading yoke, it feels more realistic than other models of simulators with springs alone.

Our Redbird LD permits connecting to your ForeFlight or Garmin Pilot and simulates flying in the airplane while you’re practicing/honing your instrument skills. We maintain an up-to-date database on all approaches ensuring all pilots are able to fly in the real world.

This AATD is FAA certified for the following:

• § 61.51(b)(3) – Logbook entries
• § 61.51 (h) – Logging training time
• § 61.57(c)(2) – Instrument experience
• § 61.57(d)(1) – Instrument proficiency check, per the Instrument ACS
• § 61.65(i) – Instrument rating; up to 20 hour
• § 61.109(k)(1) – Private Pilot Certificate aeronautical experience: up to 2.5 hours
• § 61.129(i)(1)(i) – Commercial Pilot Certificate: up to 50 hours
• §61.159(a)(4)(i) – Airline Transport Pilot Cert: up to 25 hours

In addition to the hours that you can legally log as mentioned above, this is a fabulous procedural trainer for the HSI, CDI, VOR, ADF, Autopilot, and Altitude Selector.  All our aircraft configurations include a 530 WAAS and a 430 WAAS Garmin GPS unit so you can practice all types of RNAV(GPS) approaches including those specific to WAAS.

The flight simulator can be reserved using our online reservation system. First time renters will require an initial checkout with an instructor. Rental rate is $90 per hour.
